IMEX 2019 is one of the greatest industry events for Event Planners, Hospitality Professionals, and Vendors. This year, our very own Neil Fullerton and Meghan Nabors will be in attendance to experience all it has to offer. The RHE team likes to consider themselves seasoned IMEX attendees and have given Neil & Meghan the full rundown as they prepare for their first-ever IMEX experience. We didn’t want to keep all of our pro tips to ourselves so we’ve shared them below, check it out!
Pack Accordingly: As you may have heard, IMEX involves lots of walking. Pack comfortable shoes so you can keep up with all the miles you will be putting in. Be sure to bring a jacket with you, the meeting rooms and exhibit hall tend to run cold!
Network Like a Pro: IMEX is a great opportunity to meet and connect with thousands of people. Connecting with people on LinkedIn right when you meet them is a fast and easy way to build your network. Also, don’t be caught without business cards, be sure to pack lots of them. Lastly, get a head start by organizing your on-site appointments in advance and also let people know that you are headed to #IMEX19!
Download the App:
The app is one of the best tools that you can use during IMEX. It has ample information and can easily help you navigate the conference while planning out your day. Here are some of our favorite highlights:
- Viewing your appointments schedule
- Staying up to date with show news
- Browse education sessions and researching in advance which ones you want to attend
- Creating your own favorites lists
- Review the exhibitor list and identify who you want to see while there
- Using the interactive floor plan to navigate the show
To download the app, type EventReference (one word) in your app store.
Take care of yourself: Making time to eat, rest and hydrate is so important. With all of the networking, education, and walking you will be doing, don’t forget to schedule a little time for yourself. Bring a reusable water bottle with you to make staying hydrated easy and pencil in a lunch break if your day is really busy!
