Feeding America San Diego Food Sorting – Great for Groups!

CareFusion volunteers at Feeding America San Diego!

Twenty of CareFusion’s volunteers collected at Feeding America San Diego’s office and warehouse location. After a few minutes of introductions and ice breakers, the CareFusion employees had made new friends from different departments and were ready to work together as a team. Alicia Saake, the Volunteer Coordinator with Feeding America San Diego gave us a great tour before setting the group up for successful food sorting. Finding their roles as packaging quality inspectors, expiration date calculators, or conveyor belt sorters, the group worked quickly and very efficiently!

Feeding America Volunteers
Great for Groups

Conversation was constant as the group sorted through box after box of food for the hungry population of San Diego. We were all encouraged by the vast impact that Feeding America San Diego make in the San Diego Community, and were grateful to be a part of the effort. The CareFusion team ultimately sorted 2,000 lbs of food at the warehouse, and many could not wait to find further volunteer opportunities with Feeding America San Diego.
